The Rome Marathon starts at 9am on 8th of April
There can be few more impressive cities to run around than Rome so there shouldn’t be any doubt that Rome is voted as the top choice by Runner's World survey of city marathons. The course includes almost all the most beautiful and important monuments, streets and squares of Rome. Athletes must be 20 or older on the race day and should run in total 42 km.
The Rome Marathon is steeped in tradition, starting on the Via dei Fori Imperiali, in the shadow of the Colosseum. Run past famous Trevi Fountain, the Piazza di Spagna, the Pantheon, St Peter’s, Piazza Venezia and cross the Tiber River (a number of times). The course is flat but there are some cobblestones along the way.
