The latest edition of the New European Bauhaus Prizes – 2023 – is underway and the organizers are inviting the general public to participate in selecting the winners by voting online for the most intriguing projects. Online users can cast their votes before 24 May.
The experts behind the competition have narrowed the nominations to 61 finalists spanning three strands: Champions, Rising Stars and Education Champions. Each of these strands is further divided into 4 categories in order to provide the maximum breadth of scope for the projects.
Casting your vote for your favourite candidates is fairly straightforward. Online voters must go visit the dedicated website and register with their email address and then follow the instructions. This means that only one voting session per email is allowed.
Before voting, it’s a good idea to get acquainted with the various projects, which are described in more detail on the very same page.
The public vote will establish one public vote winner for each of the three strands. You can select a total of 9 proposals per vote. You must select at least 1 proposal in each strand, and you can select up to 3 proposals per strand. You can select more than one proposal under the same category.
The public’s choices will determine one prize for each of the strands. The rest - another 12 prizes - will be decided by the jury commission.
The winners in the separate categories will be announced on 22 June.
The NEB Prizes will award up to EUR 30,000 for exemplary initiatives linking sustainability, aesthetics and inclusiveness - the three complementary values of the New European Bauhaus. For the first time, they are also open to candidates from the Western Balkans.
