The platform will help municipalities offer citizens new intelligent services
SAP and Software AG, two of Germany’s largest software companies, are joining forces to build an open smart city platform in compliance with the standards set out in the EU’s Open Urban Platform initiative. The idea is to enable cities, communities and administrative districts to implement their own smart city and smart country projects on an independent basis and to offer their citizens new intelligent services.
The platform will help municipalities offer citizens new intelligent services. It is a coordinated interplay of Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence (AI) components and includes a development platform for smart applications. The platform integrates existing data silos and is open for the solutions of other providers, from municipal enterprises and IT services providers to Smart City startups.
