Très bientôt, il y aura encore une raison d'aimer la bière belge Stella Artois. Comme annoncé la semaine dernière, sa brasserie deviendra plus durable car elle sera alimentée uniquement par énergie solaire. De plus, les habitants de Louvain peuvent contribuer à cette importante transition environnementale.
2 117 panneaux solaires sont en cours d'installation par Luminus sur le toit de la brasserie Stella Artois d'AB Inbev à Louvain. Ils couvriront une superficie de 3 800 m2 et produiront chaque année 576 000 kWh d'énergie verte.
Cette quantité est estimée suffisante pour la production de 8 millions de bouteilles de bière de 25cl par an ou pour répondre aux besoins énergétiques d'environ 150 familles. De plus, le projet devrait permettre d'économiser au moins 139 tonnes de CO2 par an, estime Luminus.
Le dernier résultat est particulièrement important pour la ville de Louvain, car la capitale de la province du Brabant flamand doit augmenter sa production d'énergie solaire dix fois d'ici 2030, si elle veut réaliser ses ambitions climatiques.
La collaboration entre Stella Artois (marque appartenant à AB InBev) et Luminus apporte cependant encore une raison de se réjouir. Les habitants de Louvain peuvent participer au projet d'énergie solaire en investissant au moins 250 EUR dans l'installation de panneaux solaires.
De plus, en participant à Power2Green, ils peuvent bénéficier d'un rendement brut moyen de 3% sur 5 ans via la plateforme de crowdfunding Mozzeno.
«Nous sommes fiers d'annoncer la collaboration avec Luminus. Nous franchissons ainsi la prochaine étape de notre objectif de développement durable: passer à 100% d'énergies renouvelables d'ici 2025. Le fait que nous puissions également impliquer les habitants de Louvain, la maison de la bière, dans ce projet durable est très agréable pour nous », a expliqué Alexander Soenen, directeur chez Stella Artois cité par Leuven2030.
