The beautiful flowers of the Italian capital are subject of an Instagram competition
Rome Municipality has already started the second edition of a photography contest on Instagram in search of the most beautiful rose in the city. The #PremioRoma2019 competition is open to residents of Rome, aged over 18, under the theme Petals of Rome. The contest coincides with the 77th edition of the prestigious Premio Roma rose competition at the Roseto di Roma, the city's rose garden.
Rome Municipality announced that the aim of the contest is to create a virtual rose garden and that the flowers can be photographed everywhere, in different contexts, in a garden or on the balcony of a house. To take part in the contest, photographers must post an image with one or more roses, adding the hashtags: #PremioRoma2019 and #Roma, tagging the Roma Capitale page. Images can be published until midnight on 12 May, with a panel of judges selecting the best five, taking into account also the number of "likes". The winners will receive an invitation to the Premio Roma award ceremony on 18 May, where their photographs will be on display. The winning images will also be shared by the city on its social media channels.
