Finland offers many great reasons to go for a run - clean air, exceptionally long summer days, beautiful natural surroundings and high-quality running events. There are also wonderful challenges for runners with various interests like road races, marathons, trail runs, ultra-distance events, etc.
One of the most interesting and curious opportunities for a run will be held tomorrow, 26 October 2019 – The Helsinki Halloween Run. It is an easy-going running event for everyone who wants to run 5 or 10 kilometers, with or without a Halloween costume. For those running with a costume, however, there will be a special competition for best outfit worn during the event.
All races start at 12:00 and the route is officially monitored. The race office and bag storage are located near to the finish line. From the race office participants can pick up their BIB-number or make a late registration. The BIB-number must be visible on the front of the running costume. Everyone will receive an e-mail or text message with their number on 25th October. The race office will open on 26 October at 10:00 until 11:30.
Finland has a long tradition in long-distance running and offers a wide range of high-quality running events. Long-distance running is a popular hobby in the country, and the biggest running events attract more than 10,000 participants. Thousands of foreign runners also participate every year in Finnish running events and interest from abroad continues to grow. Once foreign runners have participated, they keep coming back, year after year.
For run lovers, the Finnish capital and the surrounding areas offer high-quality events. Helsinki can be reached easily and offers good travel connections from and to all over the world. International running events are held in the capital region every year between April and October. One of the most famous running events is the Helsinki Half Marathon, which takes place every Summer. The next edition will be on 6 July 2020.
