Adoptar un enfoque de biblioteca para promover la producción de arte local
El Ayuntamiento de Barakaldo, en el País Vasco de España, ha informado que habría una nueva exposición de artistas jóvenes, llamada Artoteka. La idea detrás de la iniciativa es otorgar a los residentes locales la posibilidad de tomar prestadas las obras expuestas de la misma manera que tomarían prestado un libro de una biblioteca.
Esta será la primera plataforma de préstamo de arte que busca integrar la obra de artistas de la región y así promover la difusión de las obras y la profesionalización de los creadores. Las obras de arte pueden ser prestadas por un mínimo de 3 meses.
Artoteka forma parte de una colección de obras multidisciplinares de diecisiete artistas locales, que se articulan en torno a una serie de temas, como colaboración y común, ecología y naturaleza, fantasía y especulación, ritual, identidad y memoria, tecnologías críticas y cotidianidad. El concepto del arte expuesto es que se vincula íntimamente con otras áreas del conocimiento.
Las personas interesadas en estas obras pueden seleccionar una obra para préstamo para sus casas, oficinas o lugares de estudio por al menos 3 meses. Para activar cada préstamo se diseñan actividades de mediación en función del espacio y de las necesidades e intereses del usuario y del artista. De esta forma, se crean espacios de encuentro entre artistas y comunidades para reflexionar colectivamente sobre las obras y sus significados.
Artoteka surge de la colaboración entre Karraskan, Sarean y Wikitoki dentro del proyecto europeo Reshape. Esta activación de Artoteka, en Barakaldo, está subvencionada por el Departamento de Cultura del Gobierno Vasco y la Diputación Foral de Bizkaia.
