The beach in Bordeaux opens this weekend

Get your summer vacation at the heart of the city, next to the Bordeaux lake's lovely beaches

This weekend, the beach in Bordeaux, France is going to be opened for yet another season. Although Bordeaux is located close to the Atlantic coast, it is much more convenient to have a place for a sunbath well within reach, accessible by tram and other public transport. Which is why the beach by the lake (Boulevard Jacques Chaban Delmas - 33520 Bruges) is highly popular with locals and tourists alike. So, we have good news: it will be accessible again starting Saturday 1st June till the last weekend of September.

Open for swimming almost three decades ago, the beach has been adapting to the needs of the population. Larger (at 3000 square metres), cleaner, suitable for family holidays and with quality entertainment (including a pine forest with pique-nique tables, ping pong and volleyball area), the beach is free and secure thanks to a municipal police station permanently installed on the site during the days of operation. What you will find is a swimming area of 100m x 30m, pools for toddlers, multisport ground and a biblio-beach, among others.

Take into consideration that the beach is under surveillance between 12 and 19h seven days a week and swimming daily is allowed before August 31st. In September this will only be allowed on Wednesdays and weekends.
