Историята на винопроизводството в България е доста турболентна. По време на социалистическия режим, когато земите с лозя са били удържавени, виното се е произвеждало и продавало за фиксирана цена. След режима обаче, земите са върнати на първоначалните собственици и не след дълго започва конкуренто поизводство и мотивация за предлагане на по-висококачествено вино. Днес, Българя заема 18-то място в света сред най-големите винопоизводители.
