Thessaloniki gets ready for its metro launch in November
The underground rapid transit lines have been under construction for almost two decades due to various project delays
Experts still think night services are better for the environment
The night train service from Berlin to Budapest recentrly closed down and it is expected that many other night routes will follow. The Paris-Nice line has already closed. The Berlin-Budapest line used to stop at Dresden, Prague and Bratislava along the way, and in other picturesque European cities and smaller towns.
The line is believed to be unprofitable on part of the Hungarian train services. However, experts believe that the night trains are better for the environment but there is still a drop in passengers choosing to board the trains.
