L'iniziativa lunga un anno coinvolgerà anche i luoghi del cinema della città
Torino è la Città del cinema 2020 in occasione del ventesimo anniversario del Museo Nazionale del Cinema e della nascita di Film Commission Torino Piemonte. Il doppio compleanno celebra il capoluogo piemontese e la sua forte connessione con la Settima Arte, e mette in luce la varietà di enti associazioni, istituti e laboratori che hanno portato alla città un eccellenza a livello nazionale ed europeo. Arriva un ricco calendario di eventi, in cui prenderanno parte tutti le forme tradizionali cinematografici, che vedranno coinvolte tutte le istituzioni culturali torinesi.
La storia tra Torino e il cinema ha radici profonde, risalendo alla fine dell’Ottocento, quando i fratelli Lumière hanno allestito in città la prima proiezione italiana. Sin da questo momento il ruolo di Torino e del Piemonte nel mondo del cinema ha sempre assunto una notevole rilevanza, sia dal punto di vista dello sviluppo dell’industria cinematografica, che dello sviluppo di talenti e professionalità.
Nel 2020 è in programma un ricco calendario di iniziative in ciascun ambito, dall’editoria alla musica, dall’arte contemporanea al teatro, sviluppandosi su diversi assi tematici tra cui innovazione, tecnologia, multimedialità, educazione, formazione e accessibilità.
L'iniziativa lunga un anno coinvolgerà anche i luoghi del cinema della città. Nei posti strategici torinesi verranno allestiti supporti di forte impatto visivo e iconografico per una città ‘cinema friendly’. Venti luoghi cinematograficamente importanti come piazze e palazzi del centro della città saranno i luoghi per ripercorrere la storia del cinema torinese attraverso i 20 film che ne hanno creato la storia. Ognuno con l'aiuto di mappe cartacee e digitali o attraverso guide turistiche potra visitare questi posti e i ‘Maestri’ che in quei luoghi hanno creato i loro film.
