Aunque durante el mes de septiembre se cerraron grandes lugares de reunión en Valladolid, eso no significa que la vida social entre los jóvenes se haya detenido en seco. Conscientes de ello, los trabajadores sociales de la ciudad visitaron lugares donde se sabe que los adolescentes se reúnen para conocer más sobre su consumo de alcohol y cannabis y ayudarlos a concienciar sobre los efectos de estas sustancias. La campaña logró involucrar a 1097 jóvenes.
Rafaela Romero, concejala de Servicios Sociales y Mediación Comunitaria de la ciudad de Valladolid, explicó que la campaña de septiembre tuvo un doble beneficio, ya que también se utilizó para informar y recordar a los adolescentes sobre los riesgos del consumo de alcohol y marihuana, pero también sobre los Riesgos de no seguir los protocolos sanitarios.
Las trabajadoras sociales armadas solo con una mochila y folletos informativos salieron a encontrarse con los jóvenes en lugares populares para pasar el rato. Se informó que los adolescentes mostraron interés y tuvieron una actitud activa y colaboradora.
Las mediadoras estaban tratando de averiguar qué tan informados estaban los jóvenes cuando se trataba de preguntas como: ¿Por qué el alcohol se considera una droga depresora? ¿Qué pasa si se mezclan alcohol y cannabis? ¿Qué se debe hacer en caso de intoxicación con esas sustancias? ¿Y cómo se coloca a alguien en una Posición Lateral de Seguridad?
Los jóvenes recibieron un número de teléfono al que podían llamar de forma anónima si querían obtener más información. También tuvieron la oportunidad de jugar un juego de preguntas en tabletas que puso a prueba sus conocimientos sobre este tipo de preguntas. Los que "aprobaron" recibieron pequeños obsequios, como mochilas o gafas de sol.
Las trabajadoras sociales también aprovecharon la oportunidad para recordarles a los jóvenes sobre los peligros del coronavirus y sobre la importancia de usar máscarillas y no compartir botellas o cigarrillos.
