The Latvian city is calling on companies, institution and parents with newly born babies to come join a parade
On 26 July, the Latvian city of Valmiera is turning 736. To celebrate the settlement’s birthday and ancient roots, the local government had prepared a 3-days celebratory programme, full of events, performances and all sorts of different activities.
Of special interest is the procession on the evening of 26 July, starting from Unity Square and ending at Hanseatic Square. Valmiera municipality would like to invite representatives of institutions, businesses, associations to present and represent their organistions during the parade. The occasion would prove the perfect way to attract attention your dealings in a different and more unconventional manner. The local government is also calling on parents of babies born this year or last year to also take part in the procession.
The administration is asking for organisations to submit their applications by 22 July. All that’s necessary is the name, how many people will be presenting, a brief description as well as how many motorized vehicles will be used by the company’s participants. Valmiera city council wants to remind everyone that last year over 70 companies presented themselves during the birthday parade.
If you’re interested in the full programme of the three day event, feel free to follow this link, to the municipality’s website.
