Until 1 April, young artists can participate in the second edition of #DrawWithDenmark
For the second year in a row, the Danish Municipality of Viborg is organising the international drawing campaign #DrawWithDenmark. As a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts, Viborg first launched this campaign in 2021, inviting children from all over the globe to draw HOPE. At the time, the campaign proved successful as 3,300 young people from 33 countries and 40 Creative Cities took part and depicted their idea of HOPE.
Following last year’s success, Viborg is now inviting young artists to participate in the second edition of the drawing campaign to depict TRUST. On its website, the UNESCO Creative City reports that most children around the world stop drawing at the age of 10. With this annual campaign, Viborg hopes to change this and raise awareness of the value and significance of creativity.
Those interested in participating in the second edition of #DrawWithDenmark can send their submissions from 1 March to 1 April. To help young artist find their muse, Viborg has published 14 challenges from which participants can draw inspiration. These include drawing TRUST as a symbol, situation, place, animal, or friend, among others. (View all 14 challenges here.)
Like last year, the second edition of #DrawWithDenmark will encourage artists to experiment with different presentation formats. For this reason, some of the challenges invite participants to present TRUST as an animation.
As the drawing campaign is targeting individual children, kindergartens, and schools, participants can work on their art individually or in groups. They must then submit their drawings to Viborg UNESCO Creative City by email (creativecityviborg@viborg.dk) or through digital upload (which will soon be launched). In addition to this, the artists can also share their work online on social media using the hashtag #DrawWithDenmark.
