Citizens can enjoy virtual tours

The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) has agreed to keep virtual visits available to all people who wish to visit the centre. Unfortunately, due to the progression of the COVID-19 pandemic and related sanitary limitations, the CoR is unable to accept tourists on its premises.

The CoR will conduct information sessions for members of the public who want to learn more about how the institution works and the role of regions in defining the content of European Union legislation.

The presentation, which is usually given by a CoR official, will run for about an hour and will offer a general introduction to the Committee. Visits are organised between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays, and until 2.30 p.m. on Fridays.

Visitors may schedule a virtual visit with the use of a digital tool

Requests should be sent to the Visitors' Service at least two months in advance and should provide information about the number of participants, the purpose of the event, the languages that are spoken, the age of participants, and contact information for the group leader (name, address, telephone number, fax number and email).

You will first have to fill out a 'questionnaire' in order to schedule an appointment to visit. It is offered in three languages: English, German, and French.

Visitors should also consider the following before requesting a visit:

• a group should have at least 15 participants
• participants should be at least 14 years old
• the organisation of virtual visits is possible (Webex)

The CoR works to bring the local concerns of EU citizens closer to the high EU bodies. The CoR contributes to closing the gap between the work of EU institutions and the interests of EU people by involving regional and local representatives who are in daily touch with their electorates, but also by encouraging citizens to engage in various events and debates.
