La autoridad de transportes publicos de Barcelona, TMB, ha anunciado hoy que ahora será posible comprar un billete sencillo a bordo de sus autobuses con solo tocar una tarjeta bancaria en sus lectores EMV (Europay Mastercard Visa).
La implementación tecnológica la convierte así en la primera ciudad de España en introducir esto para los viajeros urbanos. Es probable que la medida resulte de gran comodidad para los millones de turistas que visitan la capital catalana cada año.
Además, el sistema también es adecuado para teléfonos y relojes inteligentes. Facilitará el acceso a buses de usuarios esporádicos al transporte público (como turistas); también evita los contactos físicos y agiliza el servicio.
Con ello, Barcelona continúa su camino para ser pionera en soluciones innovadoras en el ámbito del transporte público, habiendo sido además la primera ciudad de España en eliminar la opción de transacciones en efectivo con los conductores durante los primeros meses de la pandemia.
El sistema admite pagos con tarjetas de débito y crédito sin contacto de las principales marcas, así como dispositivos móviles que se pueden integrar en ellos, como teléfonos inteligentes y relojes. Al subir al autobús, solo tienes que acercar tu tarjeta o dispositivo al lector situado junto a la cabina del conductor.
El lector captura los datos y gestiona la compra del billete a través del sistema de pago. La transacción electrónica también es una prueba de que hay un billete válido disponible en caso de que haya inspección, por lo que no se requiere un billete en papel.
El proyecto ha sido desarrollado por TMB desde el inicio de la crisis sanitaria del Covid-19. El primer paso, el pasado mes de mayo, fue la puesta en servicio del sistema en las líneas piloto V3 y 46.
Desde entonces, y en las distintas líneas de autobús donde se ha ido implantando paulatinamente, se han registrado más de 500.000 compras y validaciones a través de los terminales EMV. Ahora los lectores de pago electrónico se han implantado en los 1.070 vehículos de la flota de TMB.
