Zaprešić unveils a smart 4D postcard

It allows you to take a virtual walk through the Croatian city

Last week, the Croatian City of Zaprešić presented a new interactive souvenir for tourists. Resembling a classic postcard, the product does not initially seem special; however, after downloading a mobile application and scanning the postcard, one can transform the product into a modern 4D souvenir that allows them to take a virtual walk through the city.

“We want to create new attractions for our visitors, and this is definitely a great step forward in the development of the modern tourist offers of Zaprešić. In addition, through the 4D postcard, Zaprešić is becoming more accessible, and we are directing the management of our destination through a smart and creative approach, creating a new platform of innovative experiences,” commented the Director of Zaprešić’s Tourist Board, Toni Ganjto.

A destination far from the sea

As Zaprešić is not located close to the seaside, it must be more creative and innovative in promoting itself as an attractive tourist destination. Mayor Željko Turk commented on this, noting that Zaprešić must make use of technology and the internet in order to create products that make it stand out and attract visitors, especially younger people.

It is important to note that students from Zaprešić’s Josip Jelačić High School also attended the presentation of the new tourist product, as they will use modern tools as part of their professional training in tourism. Expanding on this, the award-winning teacher and innovator Krešimir Ećimović commented:

“Apart from adding to the tourist offer and attracting new visitors, I think this innovation will be of great benefit to high school students who will learn, in a modern way, how to develop tourism in continental areas that do not necessarily have sun and sea.”
