Alexandru Craciun-Bunda is a third-year student at the Department of Political Science at the University of Bucharest. He is engaged in researching how mainstream and social media shape the contemporary political climate and how they can be both beneficial and detrimental to European democracies. He thinks that quality journalism and joint efforts by national governments and EU institutions can have a role in countering fake news and disinformation online thus bettering the quality of democracy.

Toni participates in Read Twice – an EU-funded project that targets young people and aims to counter disinformation and fake news by enhancing their skills to critically assess information, identify vicious and harmful media content and distinguish between facts and opinions, thus improving their media competencies.
