Christian Micallef assumed the post of Mayor of Valletta on 14^th of January 2019 following the resignation of Alexiei Dingli. The ex Deputy mayor in the Local Council of Valletta is a graduate of De La Salle College Malta and the University of Malta. A sports journalist and television host, he has specialized in Public Relations. He is expected to serve the post between January and May 2019, when the new local elections in Malta are taking place.
