Born on 14th November 1968 in the town of Luleå, Ericson completed her education at Luleå University of Technology in 2004 with a master’s degree in Psychology. She went on to work as an organizational developer at Ericson & Hjelte AB (2006-2009) and consultant at Nordtoppen (2010-2014).
In 2011 she became chairman of the board of the Technical Committee of Luleå Municipality which she oversaw for 4 years alongside being a member of the municipal council and running her own consulting business.
Lenita Ericson chaired the City Building Board (Jan 2015 - Dec 2017) and from January 2018 until December 2019 served as deputy mayor of Luleå municipality.
