Le Luxembourg introduira de nouvelles mesures plus strictes visant à limiter les contacts sociaux entre personnes qui ne sont pas du même domicile. Les nouvelles règles, destinées à éviter l'introduction d'un confinement total, ont été annoncées lors d'une conférence de presse du Premier ministre Xavier Bettel et de la ministre de la Santé Paulette Lenert dans la soirée du 23 novembre.
Bien que stable, le niveau des nouvelles contaminations observées au Luxembourg reste trop élevé, ont conclu les autorités. Le pays enregistre plus de 500 nouveaux cas par jour. À court terme, cela reste gérable, car de nombreuses opérations et interventions de santé peuvent être reportées, mais ce n'est pas une solution à long terme.
Pour cette raison, et pour éviter un deuxième confinement et préserver l'économie, le Luxembourg introduira de nouvelles mesures et étendra certaines des mesures existantes. Elles devraient entrer en vigueur après approbation par le Parlement le jeudi 26 novembre pour une période de trois semaines.
