Samedi prochain, le 28 Avril, des milliers de canards s'embarqueront pour la dix-huitième édition de la célèbre Duck Race au Luxembourg. La capitale de Luxembourg invite les visiteurs de tous âges à passer un après-midi passionnant en famille, au service d’une cause caritative. Dans 15 heures précis, 16 000 canards en plastique seront versés dans la rivière Pétrusse au-dessous du Viaduc pour une compétition inhabituelle le long des eaux froides. Après deux tours de qualification et la phase finale où seuls les meilleurs se rencontreront, il n’y aura qu’un seul vainqueur.
L'événement est organisé par Table Ronde Luxembourg et est soutenu par les autorités de la ville. Depuis 1963, l’organisation s’engage pour la tolérance, l’amitié et le service. Cet événement n’est pas une exception car il investira les recettes de la course de canards au profit de l'organisation à but non lucratif Children's Aid of India et du Népal, de l'association à but non lucratif Rokku Mi Rokka et de la fondation "Stiftung Kinderchirurgie Hawassachildone".
Mais qu'est-ce qu'une compétition sans prix ? En plus de l'expérience amusante et de la contribution caritative, les visiteurs ont la chance de gagner l'un des nombreux prix offerts par les sponsors, tels que des voyages, des bons d'achat, des dîners. De plus, le propriétaire du canard vainqueur recevra une Volkswagen Up!
Ceux qui veulent participer peuvent acheter des billets en prévente à 5 €. Tous les canards ont un numéro correspondant à un numéro de billet de loterie. Les points de prévente sont l’Office du Tourisme de la Ville de Luxembourg, Jerry Travel à Belval, les supermarchés Lidl et le site Web Duck Race (www.duckrace.lu ). La toute dernière opportunité pour obtenir la participation sera la vente sur place avant le début de la course.
