‘Empowering for Inclusion’ (E4I) ha sido seleccionado para recibir financiación de la Comisión Europea
Este fin de semana, la Generalitat de Cataluña informó que una iniciativa de múltiples socios, que incluye a su Dirección General de Acción Cívica, y que tiene como objetivo la erradicación del racismo y la xenofobia, había sido seleccionada para financiación por parte de la Comisión Europea. El proyecto, llamado Empowering for Inclusion (E4I), se acercará a 2000 jóvenes de toda la región durante los próximos dos años para empoderarlos para organizar sus propias acciones y crear conciencia sobre la necesidad de la inclusión en sus comunidades.
En un contexto de creciente intolerancia y racismo, y especialmente de islamofobia y antigitanismo, la Generalitat considera que el mejor enfoque sería abordar este tema en un lugar donde aún se pueden moldear las actitudes, la mente de los jóvenes. Es por eso que esta iniciativa organizará capacitaciones multilaterales, campañas de concientización y apoyo personal a grupos de jóvenes seleccionados utilizando las redes y recursos comunitarios ya existentes.
La Fundació Marianao, que es otro de los socios participantes en la iniciativa E4I, aplicará una metodología pedagógica para mejorar la cohesión social y mejorar las actitudes de los jóvenes en cuestiones como la diversidad y la discriminación.
Esto también anticipa la contratación de 19 técnicos comunitarios juveniles. Se trata de profesionales del trabajo social que se encargarán de detectar problemas en el entorno comunal y diseñar soluciones que generen cambios positivos.
Los técnicos comunitarios también tendrán la importante tarea de estar ahí para los jóvenes en cuestión, guiarlos en el camino y ayudarlos en su empoderamiento en términos de asistirlos en el diseño de actividades y convertirlos en modelos positivos en el proceso.
Liderar con el ejemplo es un factor de influencia importante en el cambio de actitudes dentro de las redes de jóvenes.
La Comisión Europea aportará 467 500 euros para asegurar una implementación exitosa de la iniciativa en cuestión.
