And now you get to decide – New European Bauhaus voting begins

A busy summer ahead is scheduled to culminate in awards

The New European Bauhaus movement is looking at what is shaping up to be a busy summer. The organizers behind the initiative announced the upcoming agenda of events and timelines, which are scheduled to culminate with the awarding of the New European Bauhaus Prizes. But before we even get to the Prizes the winners need to be decided and this is where NEB newsletter subscribers get to shine as they will be able to cast their vote starting from tomorrow, 11 June.

What are the steps that lead to the Prizes?

If you need a refresher on all the categories in which submitted entries can compete, you can check out our previous article. The winners in each of these categories stand to receive 30,000 euros in the first strand and 15,000 in the second, combined with a communication package to boost their visibility to the general public.

The road to the Prize ceremony, whose date is yet to be announced, however, is a winding one and it will involve narrowing down the eligible submissions (more than 2,000 of them so far) to decide which ones are the most appealing, inclusive and sustainable.

The organizers say that 20,000 newsletter subscribers can vote and that they can expect to receive instructions on how to do that on 11 June. The ballots will be cast online, and this window will close at 23:59 on 18 June.

After that, the official partners of the initiative will get to evaluate three shortlisted entries per category, out of which a winner will be selected by the Evaluation Committee of the European Commission. That Committee will also hand out the Prizes to the winners at the special ceremony.

All you have to do is stay tuned and check your inbox in the coming days because your vote is important!
