Los aficionados a la lectura en Madrid ahora tienen algo nuevo y emocionante que esperar en tiempos de escasez de buenas noticias. La Red de Bibliotecas Municipales de la capital española ha informado que el 8 de septiembre comenzará a funcionar un club de discusión de libros online. Se llamará “El Club de los gatos”, por el apodo popular de los madrileños, conocidos coloquialmente como gatos.
El nuevo club incluso tiene un lema: "Lee desde casa, maúlla online", en alusión a la comodidad que ofrece tener la oportunidad de pedir prestados libros en formato digital y luego discutirlos de forma remota. Al igual que cualquier otro club de lectura, este también propondrá títulos para que sus miembros los lean.
Con propiedad, el club en sí está formado por tres subclubes denominados: 'Libros para cambiar el mundo', 'Enmascarados' y 'Octubre negro en Madrid', cada uno de los cuales se organizará en torno a una temática diferente. Los círculos de libros tendrán una duración de entre tres y cuatro meses, y una vez finalizados serán reemplazados por nuevos temas y títulos.
El club de lectura tiene como objetivo brindar a sus miembros más flexibilidad y tranquilidad, así como más opciones que puede ofrecer un círculo de lectura presencial. Los miembros podrán discutir los textos a través de foros en línea que estarán disponibles 24 horas al día, 7 días a la semana.
También tendrán la oportunidad de ver videos de charlas de autores, conferencias de críticos, música y similares. De todos modos, de vez en cuando también habrá reuniones en persona.
