Celebrate Valentine's Day with a sound and light show in Tarnovo

The spectacular light show is a gift for everyone who choses to spend the day in the Bulgarian town

The world-famous show that has become the emblem of Veliko Tarnovo "Tsarevgrad Turnov - sound and light" will be broadcast free of charge five times in February. This includes a projection on the occasion of 14 February, as a gesture to the people of Tarnovo and guests who have chosen to spend the holiday in the former capital of Bulgaria.

Cinematic feel at the foot of Tsarevets hill for Valentine's Day

At the initiative of the local Tourism Board "Tsarevgrad Tуrnov" with the support of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, we can enjoy five free screenings of the light show. They started on the first Saturday of the month and will continue on 13, 20 and 27 February (Saturday), as well as on 14 February - Sunday, on the occasion of Valentine's Day or Trifon Zarezan, a traditional Bulgarian vine-cutting day.

All performances start at 6.30 pm and can be watched from Tsar Asen I Square, located directly in front of the Tsarevets Fortress. Thanks to the modern audio system, visitors can enjoy high-quality surround sound, which is comparable to cinemas, promised the Municipality.

In addition to the free opportunities, there is a projection at promotional prices from the observation hall with a panoramic terrace, located behind the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin on 27 February. For BGN 15 (7.5 euros) for adults and BGN 5 (2.5 euros) for children over the age of 7, ticket owners will watch the show from the indoor air-conditioned panoramic site.

For its 30 years of history, "Sound and Light" has established itself as a favourite attraction for the residents and guests of the old Bulgarian capital. Well known to tourists, it is performed all year round, regardless of weather conditions, and its duration is 17 minutes.

Significant infrastructure has been mobilized for its reproduction: 630 km of cables, 2400 floodlights, 140 flashes, 6 bells, 2 lasers, audio equipment, computer control panel, 6 high voltage substations, 72 electrical panels with command equipment, and an observation deck.
