FALL in Love With Croatia challenges the idea that the Mediterranean country is only worth visiting in the summer
Most people imagine sunny days on the beach when they hear “Croatia”. For many years, the Mediterranean country has maintained an impressive reputation as one of the best tourist destinations for the summer months. Now, it is working hard to attract tourists at all times of the year, whether it is warm and sunny or cool and rainy.
On 12 October, the Croatian National Tourist Board revealed that it has launched a promotional campaign to show tourists the beauty of the country during the autumn season. Tourist boards from numerous Croatian cities have thus come together to carry out the FALL in Love With Croatia campaign.
More specifically, they have taken to social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and TikTok) to share what they have to offer to potential tourists. Some of the attractions include interesting sights, beautiful places, and traditional fall activities such as picking mushrooms, collecting chestnuts, and preparing delicacies from autumn fruits.
Tourist boards and social media users will flood the internet with colourful photographs of the country in October and November. Using the hashtag #FALLinLoveWithCroatia, everyone can upload images of the country’s urban and rural areas covered in the colours of autumn.
FALL in Love With Croatia has been launched alongside two other campaigns, namely “Experience local! Explore rural country!” and “Month of Croatian Tourism”. With these promotions, the country’s tourist boards seek to prolong the post-season and ensure that the country remains a popular destination during all months of the year.
The director of the Croatian National Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić commented on the fall-themed promotional campaign, noting that it shows potential visitors that there is much to do and see during this time of the year.
Ultimately, FALL in Love With Croatia challenges the aforementioned idea that the Mediterranean country is only worth visiting in the warm summer months.
