The Ministry of Investment and Development of Poland announced earlier this month a call for proposals under the "Local development" programme. It is funded by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014 – 2021. The call is directed at Polish municipalities with the status of a city, included in the list of 255 cities indicated in the Strategy for Responsible Development.
The objective of the call is to “support small and medium-sized cities in developing and implementing a balanced and systemic approach to local development, and thus reducing negative development phenomena and increasing the standard of living of their residents”. It will distribute a total of EUR 102 647 058 with co-funding of up to 100%. The projects are expected to provide for strategic, integrated and comprehensive management of the city and to increasing the level of competence, the quality of services offered and the responsibility of local government administration.
At this current Stage I project outlines are being collected which will lead to the selection of around 50 cities. At Stage II around 15 projects will be selected for co-financing. Applications are due by 22 July 2019 at 16:15 online in English and Polish.
