Schoolchildren up to 14 years of age who live in Vienna can spend their holidays in the Summer City Camps. The initiative takes place from 1 July to 30 August 2019, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Children can be registered by the week. The fee for one child is 50 euros per week including lunch. There are 6,000 places available.
Exercise is a major focus of the Summer City Camps, but also excursions into nature, cultural events, and technical workshops are part of the programme. Additionally, children who failed or nearly failed their maths, German, or English classes because they had a "Genügend" (4), "Nicht Genügend" (5), or "Nicht beurteilt" in their school report are offered targeted support in these subjects in the Summer School. The Camps also offer an inclusive programme and professional care for children with disabilities.
