Enjoy a free week of active participation with a rich programme of over 500 events
The new edition of Milan Digital week 2020 has started. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event organized by the Municipality of Milan has transitioned completely online. Over 500 events can be seen until Saturday, 30 May on the specially dedicated platform.
The theme of the 2020 edition is "Transformed city". It starts with reflections on the transformation of everyday life, with a reduced possibility of changing spaces, living interpersonal relationships and at the same time being part of a community.
A week of active and free participation with a rich program of over 500 online events, more than 200 speakers, 300 meetings, and 150 conferences, webinars and discussion tables. There will still be 8 Hackathons, 9 Lectio magistralis, 7 knowledge centers (universities and academies), a Final Party with a live streaming concert (paid) and more than 300 hours of multimedia content.
The event gives a unique opportunity to discuss the present day and its transformation. Discussions will be held on topics ranging from work to health, from the environment to culture, from the economy and the media to the production of knowledge.
Among the topics of the third edition: the future of work, the necessary transversal skills and new economies, governance and development hypotheses, education, sustainability and environment (new ecosystems and urban strategies), health and privacy, art, music and culture (live performance), media (fake news).
The Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, opened the Milan Digital Week on Monday, 25 May. The second point of discussion on a municipal topic will be on an international scale: "Beyond the state of emergency - How cities are working with citizens to get out of isolation". This is the title of the meeting organized in collaboration with the Lisbon City Council meant to discuss the plans for the opening of the city and the transition to digital services (on 28 May – 4 pm).
