El grupo se ha unido para promover su interés común por reiniciar el turismo en el país ibérico
A principios de este año, informamos sobre un gran ejemplo de cooperación que fue tanto intermunicipal como en diferentes niveles de administración, todo con el propósito de presentar un esfuerzo colectivo y una voz en el relanzamiento de España como un destino de alto nivel. Se trataba de la unión de fuerzas entre 15 ciudades españolas declaradas Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, Paradores y el Ministerio de Turismo.
La colaboración se ha extendido ahora más allá de las palabras a la acción con la organización de una reunión entre los representantes del Grupo y los de los mayores operadores turísticos franceses celebrada en la Embajada de España en París. La acción fue pensada como una forma de promover las ciudades como destinos seguros y preferidos para recibir turistas de Europa.
El acto en la Embajada de España estuvo encabezado por la ministra de Turismo, Reyes Maroto; junto al presidente del Grupo Ciudades Patrimonio y alcalde de Mérida, Antonio Rodríguez Osuna, y el presidente de Paradores de Turismo, Óscar López. Juntos presentaron a 80 turoperadores, agencias de viajes y medios de comunicación franceses las oportunidades que ofrecen los 15 destinos españoles y la red de Paradores de turismo, que constituyen un referente de calidad en el turismo patrimonial y cultural en España.
El presidente del Grupo, Antonio Rodríguez Osuna, ha destacado que “España es el destino preferido para los franceses, con una cuota de mercado del 18% sobre el total de viajes internacionales y, en 2020, fue el primer mercado emisor. De ahí la importancia de celebrar este acto junto con el ministerio de Turismo y la Embajada de España en Francia, lo que ha supuesto un apoyo decidido por parte del Gobierno de España para ofrecer nuestras Ciudades Patrimonio y Paradores cómo destinos únicos para el futuro turista francés”.
Queda por ver si tales acciones de lobby de alto nivel pueden significar un nuevo enfoque para la promoción de la marca turística, pero sin duda ha servido para enfatizar la alta calidad de este sector de mercado que tiene como objetivo atraer a un tipo de viajero más exigente.
