Сините лаборатории имат за цел да насърчат иновативните "лаборатории" да изпробват нови и икономически жизнеспособни решения, насочени към избрани морски предизвикателства и възможности. Фокусът на тази тема е да подпомогне млади учени, подкрепяни от опитни изследователи, от индустрията и местните заинтересовани страни; да обедини и развие иновативни технологии, продукти и услуги в подкрепа на устойчива синя икономика, опазване на морските ресурси и екосистемите.
Сини кариери насърчава иновативни подходи към укрепването на сътрудничеството между индустрията и образованието, като цели да създаде мост между предлаганите умения и търсенето.
Синя икономика цели да подпомогне демонстрационни проекти, базирани на иновативни технологии, тествайки/развивайки или разширявайки нови индустриални приложения и решения в областта на синята икономика.
