Jan Rijpstra
Jan Rijpstra is the Mayor of Smallingerland and President of the City Council since March 2019. He has been a member of the Liberal Party of Netherlands since 1979. He is a graduate of Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen with Physical education.
Prior to his instalment as Mayor of Smallingerland, he has also served as mayor of Noordwijk, Netherlands between December 2014 and January 2019.
