Shoppeer is already available for free download
The Mayor of Cannes David Lisnard presented last week the new addition to the city’s efforts to counteract the negative effects of COVID-19 on the local economy. The mobile application Shoppeer aims to facilitate local citizens in making local purchases while giving small business owners a free publicity space and an accessible tool to make new clients.
The Shoppeer application was launched last Thursday and can be downloaded for free on Apple Appstore and Google Play by smartphone users, or accessed via browser by those who prefer the desktop version. Shoppeer puts on display 564 establishments most of which are based in Cannes city, but also in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Le Cannet, Mougins and Théoule-sur-Mer – the five municipalities part of Cannes Pays de Lérins agglomeration community.
The application allows users to easily filter by brands and sectors, receive regular information and promotional offers from participating commercial establishments or get a notification whenever they pass near a store listed on Shoppeer. Easy to use, it gives information on the delivery options, opening times and contacts.
The application is set to facilitate customers to discover the available selection of small traders, but also to help business owners, who receive free online space to promote their brands, products and line of business.
Finally, Shoppeer application is itself a local invention. It was developed by BLUE BEACON, a Cannes-based enterprise active in the field of mobile marketing solutions.
Shoppeer is the continuation of a local project bearing the same name launched in April this year, with the objective to support the restart of local economic activity despite the lockdown. At this point, the digital solution was available only to establishments offering deliveries and later on – to those offering vouchers which could be used once the physical store opened in earnest.
