Dr. Frank Nopper (CDU) was unanimously elected Lord Mayor of Stuttgart by the City Council on 4 February 2021, as a result of the 29 November 2020 elections. His official inauguration was delayed due to objections to the election and the associated deadlines, which were finally rejected by Stuttgart Regional Court.

Fritz Kuhn was born on 29 June 1955 in Bad Mergentheim (Baden-Wurttemberg). He grew up in Memmingen (Bayern), where he attended Bernhard Strigel grammar school.
