Valdas Benkunskas was born in 1984 in Klaipeda. In 2009, he graduated with a law degree from Mykolas Romeris University. His entry into political life began as an assistant to the Seimas MP Paulius Saudargas in 2008. He also entered local politics, becoming a council member in Vilnius in 2011 and then rising to the position of vice mayor in the periods of 2015-2017 and 2019-2023.

Mayor of Vilnius is Remigijus Šimašius, born in Tauragė in 1974. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Vilnius University. In 2002 he received a Ph.D. from the same faculty.
