Le port du masque dans les espaces publics fermés sera obligatoire en France à partir du lundi 20 juillet, a annoncé jeudi le Premier ministre Jean Castex. La mesure visant à lutter contre la propagation du coronavirus entre en vigueur plus tôt que prévu, au lieu du 1er août, comme annoncé précédemment.
S'exprimant devant le Sénat, le Premier ministre Castex a rappelé que la réintroduction d'une barrière faciale obligatoire devait initialement entrer en vigueur début août. Cependant, il a jugé cette mesure tardive, d'où son introduction 11 jours plus tôt. Le geste barrière est considéré comme capable de prévenir la propagation de Covid-19, en particulier dans les espaces clos, où le risque d'infection est plus élevé.
Le ministre de la Santé Olivier Véran a également appelé à la vigilance, car il y avait des signes de retour du Covid-19 dans les hôpitaux parisiens. « J'ai des signaux, pas inquiétants, mais d'attention en provenance de certains hôpitaux parisiens avec un certain nombre d'indicateurs, des signaux faibles de reprise épidémique, les appels à SOS médecins, le nombre d'appels au Samu, le nombre d'admission à l'hôpital. C'est pourquoi je demande aux Français de rester particulièrement vigilants », a-t-il déclaré pour France Inter.
En effet, l'obligation de porter un masque dans les espaces publics clos est déjà en place dans 6 communes du département de Mayenne, où le nombre de patients avec le Covid-19 est supérieur à la moyenne.
Ainsi, le préfet rendu les masques obligatoires, à titre préventif contre une deuxième vague de coronavirus. Les municipalités concernées sont Bonchamp-lès-Laval, Changé, L'Huisserie, Louverné, Saint-Berthevin, Laval.
La semaine dernière, la France a levé l'état d'urgence sanitaire le 11 juillet, le gouvernement estimant que Covid-19 était sous contrôle. Selon la loi, le port du masque était censé être obligatoire uniquement dans les transports publics.
