The Danube Transnational Programme is a funding instrument of the European Territorial Cooperation (ETC), It responds to the goals of the European Union cohesion policy and provides a framework for the implementation of joint actions and policy exchanges between national, regional and local actors from different Member States. The programme covers a high number of countries in the wider Danube area - 9 European union member states (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany - Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia) and 5 non-EU countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine - four provinces: Chernivetska Oblast, Ivano-Frankiviska Oblast, Zakarpatska Oblast and Odessa Oblast).
